Although the basement was technically "finished" when we bought the house, it was in pretty sad shape - linoleum tile floors, zero insulation, surface-mounted electrical outlets and switches, water stained walls, etc.

This was a big investment for us, but we are really happy to have the extra space - especially because it allows our family and friends to stay with us (comfortably) when they visit. Hope you enjoyed the tour!
The basement looks great! I love the funky 70's vibe and all the vintage finds. I know you'll love having a space like that for your kids to hang out in with friends as they get a little older.

ReplyDeleteI love the accessories, especially the elephant statue (I also collect ele's since childhood), the buddha head (zen and a drumset, who knew?), and the zebra print over the sofa. Great zebra ... the angle of the photo at first primarily shows the pattern, but when you look at it for a moment, there's the eye ... clever photograph.

ReplyDeleteWe were lucky enough to spend the night a few weeks ago and test it out - we had a fabulous visit and were very comfortable and cozy - even out baby slept well! It looks GREAT - Alicia did a great job. It's the perfect combination of vintage and modern and feels like a cool grown-up hangout.
